The story
Heritage underneath. Intelligence on top
For forty years we have built the hardware that energy producers rely on. It started in Notodden, with systems that take the oxygen out of injection water without chemicals, delivered to platforms worldwide. 35 systems delivered, 29 installations, treating 5.8 million barrels of water a day. Five generations since 1991, and the first, delivered to Snorre A, is still running. Today it covers water treatment, gas treatment, hydrogen purification and complete plants.
Minox already monitors its systems remotely. The Skyfri device puts the intelligence on the asset itself, certified from sensor to report. First for solar and storage, now built into every system we deliver or service. That is the combination: industrial heritage underneath, intelligence on top. Nobody else in our markets has both.

Where it started
The Minox process is developed with the Norsk Hydro research centre, from 1985 to 1990.
1991
First delivery
Delivered to Snorre A, and still running.

Second generation Minox systems enter service offshore.

Third generation Minox systems follow, building on the second generation.

Fourth generation
Fourth generation systems delivered to Agbami and Balam.
2021
Skyfri founded
The company behind the SSI devices and intelligence.

SolarSCADA acquired
Now part of Skyfri SSI.

Fifth generation
The fifth generation Minox Compact is announced as a test system, with an eductor in place of the compressor.
Apr 2026
SSI V04 Micro
The commercial launch of the DIN-rail device for solar plants.
Test centre
Test Center Notodden
Opened in 2023, our test centre lets you qualify new technology on real fluids before it goes to site. Two full-scale systems are available: the 5th generation two-stage and the patented next-generation one-stage tower.
