Skyfri Group, a Norwegian fast-growing climate technology company that delivers a fully integrated technology platform to take care of solar power plants, grows into the US market.
The company has established an office and assembly facility in Denver, Colorado. The move comes after Solarscada LLC, an innovative scada-developer founded by Greg Linder, became part of the Skyfri Group in late 2022. SolarSCADA was a semi-finalist in the U.S. Department of Energy’s American-Made Solar Prize competition.
Skyfri has grown fast since its inception and has offices in four locations today, with its solutions rolled out at over 3GW of solar power plants globally. Skyfri delivers SCADA-systems that are customized for solar power plants, and have a range of clients that has assets as small as 100 KW to 2.1 GW. The innovative systems delivered significantly reduce installation time, provides transperancy and flexible invoicing compared to competitors.
“SolarSCADA is now part of the Skyfri team and provides us with many years of expertise and knowledge about the ins and outs of the solar industry, and the challenges facing scada systems in particular. Together with SolarSCADA we believe that we will be able to deliver a solid value proposition for solar power plant owners. We will invest heavily into technology development, and growth in the US market. This is a key market for us, and we are very happy to see that we are growing here,” says Petter Berge, co-CEO of Skyfri.
Skyfri now oversee over 60 solar power plants in the US, and the ambition is to grow this over time through longterm relationships with solar asset owners. Skyfri will be delivering its scada systems in addition to Skyfri Intelligence, powerful analytics integrated with ticketing and alarms for operations and maintenance staff. The company expects to further close 200 solar power projects in the US the next few years. The goal is to become one of the largest providers of digital solutions for solar power plant operators within 2023.
“We have been in this industry for two decades, and there are a lot of challenges. The Skyfri team are entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, with a focus on technology and people. With their resources and the footprint Solarcada already have in the US, I believe we can do great things. Further development of the Skyfri Solarcada systems, and commercialization of our roadmap will have the potential to move the industry towards a much better place than it currently is. Solar assets will experience problems over time. We will be here to solve that,” says Greg Linder, CEO of SolarSCADA LLC.
